Another Time
by Robert Frost

In another time
(a younger time),
when I smiled
and the days were gentle;
before the fires
and the flood,
before the truth
when I surely believed,
before all the damage . . .
In another time,
I sailed without purpose
and floated
on fertile daydreams
in baseball skies
over silky fields
and sympathetic seas.

In another time
(a wiser time),
I will smile
and days will again be gentle;
beyond the rocks
and the railing,
with insight
and self-discovery,
after forgiveness . . .
In another time
my heart will soar
with hope
and healing
above the rain,
beyond the sun
to the end of rainbow.
