Bridgette M. Yaxley

Bridgette M. Yaxley enjoys attending local festivals, family picnics, markets, parades and all the splendors that are the epitome of both Orleans and Genesee Counties. She has family who reside in both regions. Professionally speaking, she's an English Professor at Nazareth College, earning a Doctorate of Education degree at The University of Rochester, serving as Grant Writing Administrator for The Orleans Renaissance Group, volunteering for The Lions Club of Medina, attending Historical Society meetings in Medina, and attending services at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Writing has been her passion since she learned how to hold a pencil, first earning Honorable Mention in a seventh grade school-sponsored Poetry Contest for a poem that was later published. As an adult, she's written and published short stories, worked as a newspaper and television journalist, contributed to a book on teaching strategies for gifted and exceptional students, and is publishing in academic journals.
